… PROLOGUE from As Close to Me as Possible …

“I would often go through old journals and revisit old entries. I do this, just to see how much I’ve grown–or if I’ve grown at all. At times I find issues I’ve struggled with in the past, I still struggle with now. These are usually themes that manifest within my visual works.I try to work on these issues and pay attention to them, by resolving and exploring it further on canvas or other mediums. I do this with the hope that by resolving and confronting these issues, they will appear less and less, or lead me to new information. And if they do reappear, for them to manifest in a new way or from a different angle and perspective.”
